13 Jun Scott Landry Named President of the LSLA
We are thrilled to announce that Scott Landry, President of Lane & Associates, has been appointed as the new president of the Louisiana Surplus Line Association (LSLA). This prestigious role was conferred during the LSLA 2024 Annual Meeting held this March. It marks the sixth time a member of our team has held this esteemed position and the second time Landry has been honored with this leadership role.
In his capacity as LSLA president, Landry is committed to building on the foundations laid by his predecessor, Mike Rodrigue Jr. His vision includes fostering robust collaborations with the new Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple, the Department of Insurance and the state legislature. Additionally, he aims to enhance the recognition and understanding of surplus lines insurance in Louisiana’s market, expand the association’s membership and increase engagement among existing members.
Throughout his presidency, Mr. Landry plans to sustain strong partnerships with key industry bodies, such as the PIA of Louisiana and the Independent Insurance Agents of Louisiana. He is dedicated to working alongside the LSLA board to ensure the association continues to thrive and improve under his guidance, setting a solid groundwork for his successor, David Wood.
A key focus for Landry during his term will be addressing the major challenges facing the Louisiana insurance market today, specifically making the state more appealing to insurance companies. He also believes legislative changes regarding the direct action statute and the collateral source rule are crucial.
We are excited to support Landry in these endeavors and are confident in the positive impact his leadership will have on our community and the broader insurance landscape in Louisiana.
